It has been an annual tradition for nearly a decade for three students at Cedartown High School: prepare, pack and put up their best effort against international competition.

This year, Bulldog debaters Zoey Harper, Kaylee Matsko and Maddox Minge came home with a bronze medal performance when they returned from Japan after the annual Parliamentary Debate World Congress. Coach Jennifer Cupp once again coached her team to a third place finish ahead of many other teams from around the world.

The three-day competition was followed up with some celebrations for the Bulldog trio, who got to take a day off of fun on the skiing the slopes in Niigata before today’s sightseeing time around downtown Tokyo.

The team returns on Wednesday to Georgia with plenty of memories.

Five teams from Japan faced off against from groups hailing from Australia, Hungary, Indonesia and Mongolia during this year’s event. Information about the full slate of results weren’t immediately available.
