Mr. Charles Arlin Zebeau

Mr. Charles Arlin Zebeau, age 84 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Thursday February 9, 2023. He was born on May 2, 1938 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Ernest and Rocelia Holcomb Zebeau.

Mr. Zebeau is survived by his sons, Charlie Zebeau (Anna) and Mike Zebeau; and grandson, Ryan Zebeau.

Mr. Zebeau is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth Mae Swafford Zebeau; and brothers, Jerry Van Zebeau, Sr. and Joe Wayne Zebeau, Sr.

Mr. Zebeau was a 1957 Graduate of Cedartown High School, attended the University of Georgia, and was a lifelong Cedartown and Georgia Bulldog fan. He, and brother Jerry were the Cedartown High School football film crew from the mid 1970’s until the early 1990’s. Charles served in the Georgia Army National Guard from 1955 until his service retirement in 1983. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 1994 and is a former member of the Caledonia Lodge #121.

Charles loved coaching little league football and baseball and coached both his sons and grandson. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved car projects and his many talents included everything from rebuilding car engines to pouring concrete and construction projects. He loved his high school classmates and was devoted in planning his class reunions. Charles loved being a dad and a grandfather along with family get togethers. He had a good sense of humor and even with his illness, made others around him laugh. You could usually find him with his longtime companion Peggy Moody. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.

The funeral service for Mr. Charles Arlin Zebeau will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Drake officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Brown-Wright American Legion Post 12.

The family of Mr. Zebeau will receive family and friends on Monday, February 13, 2023 from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers are to be omitted and donations can be made to Parkinson’s Foundation- 200 SE First Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 or New Harmony Baptist Church- 951 Prior Station Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jerry Zebeau, Jr., Lyle Vinson, Anthony Osborn, Chet Cleland, Craig McDonald, Eddie Hooper, and Chad Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Howard and Paul Wallace.
