Investigator Taylor Bristow

Another tragic incident took place in West Georgia today as a Carroll County Sheriff’s investigator was shot and injured in the line of duty.

Fortunately for Investigator Taylor Bristow, he’ll be recovering from his wounds.

Bristow was struck by a suspect during the execution of a search warrant with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in Carroll County this morning off off Don Rich Drive. Per a GBI press release on the incident, Bristow was helping state investigators in executing the search warrant involving child exploitation.

The GBI additionally noted in their brief release on the incident that the suspect was shot and killed during the shooting incident with law enforcement.

Officials had not yet released further details about the morning incident.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook this afternoon noted that Bristow was out of surgery and moved him into intensive care at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Tuesday’s shooting incident marked the latest tragedy in the West Georgia area. Over in Paulding County, Deputy Brandon Cunningham was shot and killed in the line of duty on Saturday, August 12 while responding to a domestic incident.
