Camella Marie Dobbins-Brown

Camella Marie Dobbins-Brown of Rome, Georgia, was born in Alabama in 1941 and danced her way into Heaven on Feb. 21, 2023.

Always an independently strong woman, her beautiful smile, sense of style, quick wit, dedication and laughter lit up our hearts and souls.

Camella’s talents touched many lives, and her interests were many. After graduating from Phoenix Union High, she started and finished her career in high-end retail with a brief stint as a CNA. She loved to volunteer for the Girl Scouts of America, her children’s schools and The Church.

You’d find her shopping – aka “collecting”, watching old movies, dancing her heart out, and being the life of the party. She loved listening to beautiful hymnals and singing in the Choir. Her unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father is the foundation upon which she’s built her life.

Camella is survived by her daughter Laura, son-in-law Joe, stepchildren David, Daniel and Kelly, grandchildren Nicholas, Richard, Danielle, Victor, Taylor, Julie, Cameron and Sage, great grandchildren, Evelyn, Estella, Cozette and Callum, daughter/sister/brother in laws, nieces and nephews, amazing cousins, Church family and wonderful friends. She cherished her deceased husbands (especially sweet Stanford) and loving son Shaun, and now is reunited with them and so many others who held such importance in her life..

We will celebrate Camella, Sat. Feb. 25th with family visitation at 11am, general visitation at 12pm and service at 1pm at West Rome United Methodist Church, led by Pastor Jatin Gill. Burial will be Monday, Feb. 27th at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens at 11am.

Camella was a red-hot firecracker and brighter than the sun. She loved all things colorful, bright and shiny, and we will honor her by wearing the brightest of colors at these events and invite you too as well.

Parnick Jennings Sr. – Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
