Bonnie Pearl Matthews

Bonnie Adkins Matthews, 82, of Powder Springs, departed for heaven on September 20, 2021 and is with family and friends who went before.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alec and Paralee Adkins, siblings Mary Ann Daniel and Junior Adkins and her son David Matthews.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Arnold Matthews and daughter, Deborah Matthews. She is survived by siblings Bobbie Mobbs, William Adkins and Jackie Adkins. She was a loving Grandmother to Caleb Matthews and Ashley Matthews and Great-Grandmother to Faith and Grace Matthews, Greer and Grey Matthews and Seraphina Brawner.

Bonnie loved God and her family. She loved music and photography. She had a passion for crafting and delighted in gifting her handiwork, even to complete strangers.

She loved camping, fishing and having a good time with friends and family. Bonnie was always laughing and smiling.

Bonnie worked for several years at Tapp Middle School as part of the “Lunch Bunch” and always spoke fondly of the ladies she worked with.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 11:00am until 1:00pm (EST) at Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home in Cedartown, Georgia.  A graveside service will follow at Polk Memory Gardens in Cedartown, Georgia.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Matthews, William Adkins, Jackie Adkins, Clifton Daniel, Greg Daniel and Brian Adkins.

Flowers are welcome … her favorite color was orange.
