Mr. Billy J. Gable

Mr. Billy J. Gable of Cedartown, GA, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, after an extended illness.

Mr. Gable was born on January 10, 1935, to Allen and Inez Gable. Mr. Gable worked for many years at Star working with sheet metal. He bravely enlisted at the age of 18 in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam war.

Mr. Gable was a member of New Etna Baptist Church. He was also an ordained minister and loved ministering at the Jail. In addition, he enjoyed working around the farm, gardening, and the mountains. Mr. Gable is preceded in death by his siblings Hayward Gable, Roy Gable, J.W. Gable, Hazel Warren, and son-in-law Keith Barber. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Joann Gable; sons, Dale Gable (Odulian Dalian), Garrik Gable, Michael Gable (Beverly), and Ricky Gable (Amanda); daughters, Gloria Barber and Janice Samples; brothers, David Gable and Alvis Gable; sisters, Vera Lee Price and Faye Hulsey; grandchildren, Jeri Dawn Houston, Jonathan Gable, Jessica Collier, Justin Gable, Adam Gable, Cody Lumpkin, Kirsten Gable, Matthew Gable, and Brayden Gable. Mr. Gable is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren. 

The visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, from one o’clock until three o’clock at the Litesey Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation in the chapel of the Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. Jerome Smith officiating. The interment will be held at the Northview cemetery with full military honors. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Jonathan Gable, Justin Gable, Adam Gable, Cody Lumpkin, Matthew Gable, and Brayden Gable. In addition, honorary pallbearers will be Logan Gable, Pete Houston, and Landon Dutton. 

The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Billy Gable.
