Mrs. Betty Ann Steele Chappell, age 94 of Rockmart, passed away Thursday morning, October 6, 2022.
Mrs. Chappell was born September 16, 1928 in Miami, Florida, daughter of the late Charles William Steele, Sr. and the late Muriel Rawlins Steele.
She graduated from the Miami Edison Senior High School and was a 1950 graduate of Florida State University. Mrs. Chappell was a homemaker and a member of the Rockmart First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and loved to travel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Chappell, Jr. on August 15, 2018; her son, Harry W. (Buddy) Chappell, III; son-in-law, Robert Lee Cochran, Jr.; and a brother, Charles William Steele, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Ann Chappell Cochran of Rockmart; six grandchildren, Katie (Thomas) Humphrey of Valdosta, Julianna (Jason) Greenawalt of Spokane, Washington, Weston (Amy) Gosa of Calhoun, Ian (Tara) Chappell of Stuart, Florida, Rachel (Kristian) Ortiz of Florida and Bonnie (Corey) Schwall of Stuart, Florida; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation for Mrs. Chappell will be held at Freeman Harris Funeral Home on Saturday, October 22, 2022, between the hours of 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
