Kids will have a chance to land a catch of the day at the Aragon Mill Pond starting at 10 a.m thanks to organizing efforts from the city and generous donations to ensure a family-friendly event resumes even with a slight change in the routine for this year.
The Aragon Kids Fishing Rodeo starts at 10 a.m. and continues through the afternoon hours (weather permitting, there are chances of thunderstorms after 1 p.m., and some chances of rain in the morning) and features not only a chance to find a spot on the pond for anyone 16 and under to catch from the freshly-stocked pond, but for games, food and prizes too.
Normally the Davitte Lodge F&AM in Aragon provides the organizing efforts for the annual Kids Day at the Mill Pond, but due to the ongoing pandemic the city stepped in this year to ensure that local youth have a fun-filled day to start the summer fishing season.
City officials ordered and stocked the Mill Pond for the season and this weekend’s event.
