Plans are in motion for a late spring tradition to continue on the banks of the Aragon Mill Pond coming up on the calendar, and the Aragon City Council gave their permission to go forward and provide fun for all ages.

That’s right, Aragon Kids Day is returning this year on June 3, 2023 at the Aragon Mill Pond, and those who want to participate will need to bring along their kiddos and a fishing pole to enjoy a day of fishing, games and giveaways.

The city is covering the cost this year – just over $2,100 – of stocking the pond and members of the Davitte Lodge F&AM #513 in Aragon will also be on hand with food and items to give away to youth during the upcoming event.

Kids Day will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the mill pond. It is free for all to participate.

Additional plans for bounce houses and the greased pole challenge (with money for the winner who can get to the top) are also part of the day’s plans. Field-day style games will also be part of the Saturday fun.

The City Council voted during their March meeting to approve the purchase of fish to stock the pond ahead of the date, which will include bass and catfish.
