Mrs. Anne Packer Morris, age 87, of Cedartown, GA, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home & with her loving family at her side on Friday morning, December 16, 2022 following an extended illness.

Mrs. Morris was born on November 3, 1935 in Rome, Georgia to the late Elbert Packer, Sr. and Ruth Lorrens Packer.

In addition to her parents, Anne was also preceded in death by; a brother, Elbert Packer, Jr., three sisters, Betty Packer Shaw, Caroline Packer Welchel and Joyce Packer McGee, a son, Roy A. Lee and her husband, James Edward Morris.

Mrs. Morris was a lifelong resident of Polk County and had worked all of her life being a good friend and servant to the Public, which she adored. While serving the public, she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great-great grandmother and aunt.

She was a career-minded lady and joined and worked in the Banking Industry here in Polk County. She worked with many great people within the community over the years, and over those years made many friends. Friends that she loved just like they were family.

Anne worked very hard her whole career and retired from the First National Bank of Polk County in 2002, where she had attained the title of Senior Administrative Assistant.

A true servant to her Lord and Savior, she was a proud member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and attended regularly prior to her declining health. She worked on many projects with her church and was always proud to volunteer for anything that came along or that was needed to be done.

Anne dearly loved her family and friends and will be sorely missed by so many, here, within our community.

Mrs. Morris is survived by her children, daughter & son-in-law, Rebecca & Jason Maddox of Cedartown, son and daughter-in-law, Doug & Joan Lee of California, a sister, Joan Packer Lindsey of Cedartown as well as, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

In accordance with Anne’s wishes, she was cremated, and a Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Saturday morning, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Jamie Newsome officiating. In Lieu of Flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions can be made to: Shiloh Baptist Church, 433 Shiloh Road, Cedartown, GA 30125 – phone# (770)749-1540. The family will receive friends at the Shiloh Baptist Church immediately following the service.
