UPDATE:

Polk County Emergency Management Agency officials expect that Polk is getting just rain through the rest of the morning, but temperatures dropping might cause other issues later in the day and into tonight.

NWS Peachtree City added other counties this morning to the winter weather advisory as a precaution – including Haralson and Paulding counties – but so far, it has mainly stuck to rainfall over the area, just leaving wet roadways that could cause additional headaches as temperatures drop.

EMA officials believe that roadways will have time to dry out as rain is expected to push out of the area by lunchtime, but some places will likely still have standing water and could freeze.

Be warned now for that commute home: if temps continue to remain around freezing and dip lower as the sun goes down, drivers could face black ice on the roadway.
