Local youth continue to bring home medals for their work over the past weekend as the 2025 District Project Achievement event was held.
The weekend event saw some 500 competitors from across the state of Georgia gather for the annual 4-H District Project Achievement event.

Rockmart High School’s Callie Ensley will be representing Polk 4-H on the state level after she took the top spot in the Health category for her project.
Additional winners included Ilya Fawcett of Rockmart Middle, who won for a sports project, and Molly Purcell, who won for environmental science.
They weren’t the only ones bringing home medals for their projects. Second place finishers included Ava Bell, for her homeschool project on Better Breakfast; Cadence Gibson of Cedartown Middle for a project on Flowers, Shrubs and Lawns; Isabelle Lackey of Cedartown Middle for her project on Fashion Revue; Esmeralda Sibrian for her history project; and Bella Nesbitt for her Textiles & Merchandising project.
The third place finishers for the event included Aubrey Bradley of Cedartown Middle for her presentation on workforce preparation; Kamari Davis of Rockmart Middle for photography; Summer Gonzalez of Rockmart High for a project on Food for Health & Sport; and Cedartown High’s Eliza Saunders for her project on sports.
Polk 4-H extended their thanks to volunteers over the weekend who helped out including Cathy Ensley, Tiffany Gibson and Shannon Ridgeway.
