Mr. Robert “Robbie” Wayne Benson, Jr., age 58, of Cedartown, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020.
Robbie was born in Rome, Georgia on March 25, 1962 to Robert Wayne Benson, Sr. and Frances Johnette Clark. Robbie was a truck driver for over 30 years and enjoyed his travels. He was a lover of animals and was quite a comedian. He was an avid football fan of the University of Alabama and the Green Bay Packers. Robbie was truly his Momma’s boy.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Larry Austin Clark; stepbrother, Donald Ayers; grandparents: Jewel Thompson Studdard, John W. Studdard, Seals Benson and Frances Norma Benson.
Robbie is survived by his son, John Morgan Benson; his mother, Mrs. Johnett Clark; his father Wayne Benson, Sr. and stepmother, Donna Benson; sister, Beth Benson Buford (Tod); stepsister, Tracie Ball (Billy); niece, Katherine Blevins and nephew, Will Kelley along with several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Studdard and Rev. Anthony Trawick officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 2:00 pm until the service hour at Smith & Miller Funeral Home. Social distancing guidelines will apply and masks are recommended.
Pallbearers will include: Greg Howard, Jamie Morris, Waymond Wood, David Studdard, Chuck Bedford and Will Kelley.
